The Mitutoyo 115-315 Tube Micrometer is an analog measuring tool designed to determine the wall thickness of curved surfaces, such as tubes, rings, and bearings. It features a cylindrical anvil and a flat spindle.
Key features
Cylindrical anvil: Unlike a standard micrometer with a flat anvil, the 115-315 has a Type C cylindrical anvil (or a 4.7mm spherical pin anvil) on a post that allows it to hold and measure the wall thickness of cylindrical or curved workpieces.
Flat spindle: The flat measuring face of the spindle is carbide-tipped for enhanced wear resistance and durability. The micro-lap finish on the spindle and hardened steel anvil also ensure high precision.
Ratchet stop: The built-in ratchet-stop mechanism provides an audible click and applies a constant, uniform pressure on the workpiece. This eliminates over-speed error and ensures precise, repeatable measurements every time.
Analog display: The micrometer features an analog thimble and sleeve scale with a satin chrome finish. It has a graduation of 0.01 mm.
Metric units: The tool operates in metric units with a measurement range of 0 to 25 mm.
Spindle lock: A spindle lock is included to freeze the spindle's position and secure the measurement, preventing accidental changes while reading.
Ergonomic frame: The frame has a non-slip, baked-enamel finish that provides better grip and improves durability in shop environments.
Durable construction: With a mass of approximately 180 g and measuring surfaces made of carbide-tipped and hardened steel, the micrometer is built for long-term use.
