Description

The Mitutoyo 500-163-30 Absolute Digimatic Caliper is an electronic digital caliper with a 0 to 8-inch (200 mm) measuring range and carbide-tipped jaws for measuring outside dimensions (OD). It is designed for measuring rough-machined workpieces, castings, and grindstones, where the carbide-tipped jaws provide excellent wear resistance.

Key features

  • ABSOLUTE (ABS) System: The caliper uses an absolute linear encoder, so it remembers its origin point after being turned on. This eliminates the need to reset the zero position each time, saving time and preventing over-speed errors that can occur with other electronic calipers.
  • Advanced Onsite Sensor (AOS): The electromagnetic inductive sensor system makes the caliper highly resistant to environmental contaminants like dirt, oil, and water, ensuring reliable measurements in workshop environments.
  • Carbide-tipped jaws: The jaws are made with carbide tips, which are ideal for handling rough-machined parts, castings, and other abrasive materials.
  • Large LCD readout: The display has a large, clear LCD screen with high-contrast characters that are 9 mm tall, making readings easier to see and reducing eye strain.
  • Thumb roller: A thumb roller allows for smooth, stable, and precise slider movement during operation.
  • Four-way measurement: The caliper is capable of taking outside dimension (OD), inside dimension (ID), depth, and step measurements.
  • Durable construction: It has a hardened stainless steel construction for durability and corrosion resistance.
  • Long battery life: The caliper's battery life is approximately 3.5 to 5 years under normal use, thanks to its low-current integrated circuit.
  • Inch/Metric models: This model offers both inch and metric readings.
