Description

The Mastech MAS838 is a manual ranging digital multimeter, requiring the user to manually select the correct measurement range with a rotary switch. This differs from an auto-ranging meter, which automatically selects the appropriate range.

Key Features
  • DC Voltage: Measures voltage up to 600V with ranges including 200mV, 2V, 20V, and 200V.
  • AC Voltage: Measures AC voltage on 200V and 600V ranges, calibrated for sine waves between 40Hz and 400Hz.
  • DC Current: Can measure DC current up to 10A.
  • Resistance: Measures resistance up to 2MΩ with several ranges.
  • Continuity: Tests for a continuous electrical path. A built-in buzzer sounds if the resistance is low.
  • Diode Test: Checks the functionality of diodes.
  • Transistor Test (hFE): Includes a socket for testing the gain of NPN and PNP transistors.
  • Temperature: Measures temperature using a K-type thermocouple, with a range of -20°C to 1000°C.
  • Data Hold: A button to freeze the current measurement on the display for easy reading.
  • Display: A 3½-digit LCD with a maximum count of 1999.
