Description

The HT Instruments SOLAR I-Ve is a single-phase solar installation efficiency tester and I-V curve tracer for photovoltaic (PV) systems up to 1500V. It is used by technicians to verify the performance of PV modules and strings by comparing measured data to manufacturer specifications.

Key Features
  • I-V Curve Tracing: Measures the current-voltage (I-V) characteristic curve of PV modules and strings. The SOLAR I-Ve captures 128 points for the I-V curve and can measure up to 1500V/10A or 1000V/15A.
  • Efficiency Measurement: Measures the efficiency of the single-phase PV system to ensure it's performing to standard. An optional MPP300 accessory is required for three-phase systems.
  • Open-Circuit Voltage and Short-Circuit Current: Measures the open-circuit voltage and short-circuit current of PV modules or strings, up to 1500V and 15A, respectively.
  • "AutoStart" Test: A feature that enables sequential I-V curve testing of strings without disconnecting cables. The test is triggered automatically when the leads touch the positive and negative terminals.
  • Data Logging: Uses the companion SOLAR02 remote unit to acquire simultaneous data on solar irradiation and temperature. The SOLAR I-Ve and SOLAR02 synchronize wirelessly via RF communication.
  • Module Database: Contains an internal database of 30,000 PV modules that can be updated. This allows for immediate performance evaluation by comparing measured results to manufacturer specifications
