Description

The HT Instruments PV-ISOTEST is an insulation meter designed for electrical safety testing and troubleshooting of photovoltaic (PV) systems up to 1500V DC. Unlike conventional testers, it can perform insulation measurements on live PV systems without needing an external device to short-circuit the string terminals. Its advanced features help professionals quickly locate and diagnose faults in solar installations.

Key Features
  • 1500V DC insulation measurement: The device can perform insulation resistance tests on a single PV module, an entire string, or a complete solar field, with test voltages up to 1500V DC. This meets the IEC/EN62446-1 standard for testing modern, high-voltage PV arrays.
  • Integrated GFL (Ground Fault Locator): A standout feature of the PV-ISOTEST is its ability to identify the precise location of a single insulation fault within a PV string. It can pinpoint issues caused by things like water or moisture ingress.
  • Dual-mode testing: The instrument can measure the insulation resistance of both the positive and negative poles simultaneously, which helps the user quickly locate a fault.
  • Protective conductor continuity: The meter includes a continuity test function for protective conductors, using a test current of 200mA to ensure reliable grounding.
  • Diagnostic evaluations: The meter can calculate the Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR) and Polarization Index (PI) to help assess the long-term health of a cable's insulation.
  • User-friendly operation: It features a backlit 128x128 pixel graphic display and provides immediate pass/fail (OK/NO) results for insulation tests. There is also an optional automatic shut-off feature.
  • Data storage and connectivity: Test results can be stored in the instrument's memory and transferred to a PC via an optical/USB connection cable and the optional TopView software.
